QUESTION
Will IOS 27 fix autocorrect?
No one can say yet whether iOS 27 will fix autocorrect, because Apple has not announced iOS 27 features. Any answer about iOS 27 would be speculative. Also, iOS 27 would not be expected for many years, so there’s no official information available yet.
What we can say is that Apple has already made major autocorrect improvements in recent iOS versions. For example, iOS 17 introduced a transformer-based language model for autocorrect, and it also lets you revert an autocorrected word by tapping the underlined text. Still, autocorrect can remain imperfect.
If your goal is to improve autocorrect right now, the most useful steps are:
- Update to the latest iOS version available for your device.
- Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Keyboard Dictionary if autocorrect has learned bad patterns. This clears learned typing habits without deleting custom text replacements.
- Check Settings > General > Keyboard for options like autocorrect, predictive text, and text replacement.
- If the issue is specific words, add them to Text Replacement or correct them consistently over time.
So: iOS 27 may improve autocorrect, but there’s no way to verify that yet. For current help, use the keyboard reset and settings steps above, and check Apple’s official release notes when iOS 27 is eventually announced.
