Why does my TV randomly turn off?

A TV that turns off by itself is usually caused by one of a few common issues: HDMI-CEC, a sleep or eco setting, a power connection problem, overheating, a stuck power button, or a software glitch.

Quick checks:

• Disable HDMI-CEC temporarily. A console, streaming stick, or soundbar may be sending power commands.
• Turn off Eco Mode, Auto Power Off, Power Saving, and Sleep Timer.
• Plug the TV directly into a wall outlet to rule out a bad power strip or surge protector.
• Make sure the TV has good ventilation and isn’t overheating.
• Remove the remote batteries for a while to see if a stuck button is the cause.
• Update the firmware; if needed, try a factory reset.

If it keeps happening after those checks, the TV may have a failing internal power supply or another hardware issue, especially if it clicks, reboots, or won’t stay on.
