Should I buy a used GoPro Hero 10 or a new DJI Osmo Action 4?

For most people, a new DJI Osmo Action 4 is the safer buy. You get a fresh battery, manufacturer warranty, and lower risk than with a used camera.

Compared with the Hero 10, the Action 4’s larger sensor generally helps in low light, and it’s rated for deeper waterproof use without a dive case. It also uses a magnetic quick-release mounting system, which is very convenient for swapping mounts quickly.

A used GoPro Hero 10 can still be a good value if your budget is tight or you specifically want its extra resolution and frame-rate flexibility. The Hero 10 can shoot up to 5.3K/60, while the Action 4 tops out at 4K. If you buy used, inspect the lens and housing carefully, and check the battery health because older batteries may not hold charge as well.
