QUESTION
Should I buy a used BlackBerry Key2 in 2027?
For daily smartphone use, I’d strongly avoid buying a used BlackBerry Key2 in 2027. It was already an aging device by 2026, and by 2027 it will be even more dated, with no meaningful security support and likely declining compatibility with modern apps and services.
Used Key2 units may still show up for around $70 to $145 depending on condition, but that doesn’t change the main drawbacks: it runs an old version of Android, likely no longer receives crucial security patches, and surviving batteries will probably be heavily worn by then. In practice, it may still be okay for light offline use, typing, or as a collector’s item, but it’s not a good choice for a primary phone or for secure everyday use.
