Usually, yes: a laser printer is often the better choice if you rarely print.
Why:
- Inkjet printers use liquid ink, which can dry out or clog printheads if the printer sits unused for long periods. That can lead to maintenance, wasted ink, and occasional cleaning cycles.
- Laser printers use dry toner, so they’re generally less prone to sitting-idle problems and are often a better fit for occasional document printing.
That said, a laser printer isn’t automatically best for everyone. If you print mostly photos or glossy color images, an inkjet is usually better for image quality.
So for occasional everyday documents, laser is usually the better fit; for occasional photo printing, inkjet may be better.
