Yes—but only as a very cheap, well-inspected used van. For the Mazda MPV, a fair used price range is about $2,000–$6,000 for older, higher-mileage examples, with especially clean, low-rust, well-maintained vans sometimes reaching $6,500–$8,000. Rough, high-mileage, or neglected MPVs should be much cheaper, often under $2,500 if you’re taking on risk.

As a cheap family hauler, it can make sense if you need seats and cargo space on a tight budget and you’re okay treating it as a short-term solution. I’d usually prefer a Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey if the budget allows, but the MPV’s smaller size and lower entry price are its main advantages.

Caveat: prices move with local demand and condition, so check completed/sold listings before buying.

Rule of thumb: buy only if it has a clean title, no major rust, smooth transmission shifts, working sliding doors, cold A/C, decent tires, and proof of regular oil/transmission service. Walk away from overheating, hard shifting, warning lights, obvious leaks, major rust, or any seller who says “it just needs a sensor.”
