Usually yes only if you send gifts several times a year and value fast, convenient shipping to multiple addresses. If you mostly order a few gifts around birthdays or holidays, Prime is often not worth it on shipping alone; you can usually use free-shipping thresholds, slower delivery, or retailer-specific free shipping instead.

A practical rule: keep Prime if you place roughly 2+ Amazon orders per month, often need last-minute delivery, ship gifts directly to recipients, or use the included video/music/reading/grocery/perk benefits. Skip or pause it if you mainly buy gifts in batches, can plan 5–7 days ahead, or do not use the non-shipping benefits.

For gift-giving specifically, Prime’s biggest value is convenience: fast delivery, separate shipping addresses, easier last-minute saves, and fewer per-order shipping decisions. Its biggest downside is that the annual/monthly fee can quietly exceed what you would have paid in shipping if your gift orders are occasional.
