Check who sells it, how it ships, and the seller’s history.

Quick signs the seller is legit:

  • Sold by Amazon / Ships from Amazon: usually the safest choice.
  • Sold by a third-party seller, Ships from Amazon: Amazon handles storage and delivery, which is generally reassuring.
  • Sold and shipped by the seller: check more closely, since they handle the order themselves.

What to look at on the seller page:

  • Feedback rating + number of reviews: a solid rating with lots of feedback is better than a perfect score with very little history.
  • Business details: look for a real business name and contact info.
  • Account age/new seller: a brand-new seller is not automatically bad, but be cautious with expensive items or very low prices.

Big red flags:

  • Asking you to pay outside Amazon
  • Prices that are way below everyone else’s
  • Reviews that don’t match the product

Also check the listing’s return policy and remember Amazon’s A-to-z Guarantee can help if a third-party seller goes wrong.
