Do aliens have DNA like life on Earth?

We don’t know yet. If aliens are built from the same kind of chemistry as life on Earth, they might use DNA or something very similar for heredity. But they could also use a different genetic system entirely. So the honest answer is: DNA is possible, but not guaranteed.
