Currently, humans cannot upload their minds to computers. Mind uploading — often called whole brain emulation — remains hypothetical and has not been demonstrated.

To make it possible, science would need to solve major problems such as:

  1. Mapping the brain: The human brain has about 86 billion neurons and an enormous number of synapses. Scientists have mapped the full connectome of some much simpler organisms, but doing this for a living human brain at the level needed for mind uploading is far beyond current technology.
  2. Simulating the brain: Even if the wiring could be captured, accurately simulating the brain’s electrical and chemical activity in real time would require extraordinary computing power and extremely detailed models.
  3. Consciousness and identity: It is still unknown whether a digital simulation would be conscious in the same way, or whether it would just be a copy of your memories and behavior rather than your actual mind.

As for timing, expert views vary widely. Some futurists think it could happen later this century, while many neuroscientists think we are many decades — or even centuries — away, and some believe it may never be possible. So the short answer is: not with current science or technology, and it is still unknown whether it will ever be possible.
