Typical price to pay:

  • Brother QL-600: about $40–$70 new. If you see it used/refurbished, a fair range is $25–$45.
  • Cheap generic thermal label printer: about $20–$50 new for basic models, with some better-reviewed models landing around $50–$80.

Bottom line: if the Brother is within roughly $20–$30 of the cheap generic printer, I’d usually buy the Brother QL-600 for better predictability and support. If the generic printer is much cheaper and you only need occasional labels, it can be the better value.

Prices vary by seller, bundle, and included label rolls, so check sold/completed listings before buying.
