For movies, the best starting point is:
- Picture mode: Movie, Cinema, Filmmaker, or Calibrated
- Sharpness: 0 or very low
- Color temperature: Warm or Warm 2
- Motion smoothing: Off
- Brightness / backlight: adjust to your room
- Contrast: leave near default unless highlights clip
- Color: keep near default
- Noise reduction: Off for good-quality Blu-ray or 4K streaming
Best simple setup: Movie/Cinema/Filmmaker mode + Warm color + sharpness at 0 + motion smoothing off.
For HDR movies, use the TV’s HDR movie mode and let the TV run brighter than you would for SDR. If dark scenes look too crushed, raise brightness a little; if blacks look gray, lower it slightly.
