Software
MAARS
Software Suite consists of seven programs. Three of these
programs are typically included with the monitoring system,
and three programs are considered optional. PathFinder may
be packaged with a system, but typically is priced
separately. All programs are designed for the Windows
Operating Systems. |

Model 5000 Portable Online Monitoring
System
The
Model 5000 Portable Online Monitoring System was designed to
be used on problem machines found by normal data collector
route-based systems. When a problem machine is identified,
the next question usually asked is “Will this machine make it to
the next planned outage?” Now you can set up an
online monitoring system within about ½ hour on the problem
machine and leave it in the field. The Model 5000 can use
wired or wireless Ethernet connections to transmit its data
back to the maintenance department computer. Using live time
data, you can now make an informed decision as to the
current health of the machine. The Model 5000 has many of
the same features listed above for the Model 3000.

Model
4000 Online Monitoring System
The
Model 4000 Monitoring System is MAARS premier monitoring
system, and allows users to configure their system to meet
any condition monitoring requirement.
The
Model 4000 uses a PC-based architecture so all of the usual
MicrosoftTM
features are available to the system. For example, the
database structure is the one used by popular database
programs such as MicrosoftTM
Access. The Firmware has familiar WindowsTM
NT functions, such as dialog boxes, selection list on pop-up
windows, extensive help files, and advanced communications
functions. When in Stand-Alone mode, spectral, waveform and
trend data may be recalled at the Model 4000 unit for
analysis.
Internally,
the Model 4000 uses a PC 104 card stack that includes a
PentiumTM
microprocessor and a 500 kHz ADC. This platform provides the
most advanced digital sampling available for process and
dynamic measurements. The embedded WindowsTM
NT operating system provides a familiar user interface and
easy network configuration. The Model 4000 may be connected
directly into the plant Ethernet backbone for network
communications. |

Model
3000 Online Monitoring System
The
Model 3000 Monitoring System is MAARS low-cost monitoring
system, designed for mounting on your critical machinery
such as overhead cranes, shovels or mobile equipment. The
electronics inside the enclosure and the enclosure are both
shock mounted. Each unit can operate as a stand alone Data
Acquisition System or be networked via Ethernet or RS485.
The Model 3000 accommodates sixteen input channels. Each
channel may be configured for various signals (vibration,
pressure, temperature, flow, etc.) by inserting the
appropriate MAARS SMAARTBRICK. Power is provided for both
accelerometer and displacement probes. Input/Output relays
provide alarm annunciation or machine state control.
The
Model 3000 monitors all input channels continuously or under
machine condition controls such as RPM. An FFT conversion is
performed on vibration data; band values are compared to
alert and fault levels and the stored at user-defined
intervals. Data that exceed the Alert or Fault levels will
be stored upon alarm or fault violation and alarm relays
will be activated immediately. If a permanent connection is
not available, the data may be copied to another network
device or downloaded to a laptop computer at the machine
location. Wireless LAN’s also provide for continuous
access to the data collected by the Model 3000. An optional
solid-state cooling system may be used
in high-temperature
areas as well. |

Model
2000
Online Monitoring System
The
MAARS Model 2000 Remote Multiplexer provides low-cost
expansion functionality for the MAARS Model 4000 and Model
3000 simultaneous monitoring systems.
These systems are the most powerful and flexible
monitoring systems available for critical machinery. With
the addition of the MAARS 2000 Monitoring System Units, any
MAARS System can be expanded to include important support
equipment that should be monitored but does not require
continuous and simultaneous monitoring.
The MAARS Model 2000 is a 16 channel multiplexed data
acquisition system.
Multiple Model 2000’s can be added to any MAARS
4000 or 3000 system for high channel count, low cost per
point data acquisition. MAARS Model 2000 System
configuration is supported by MAARS Software Suite. Data is
stored by the Software in a Microsoft Access™ database
format for easy import/export functionality. The MAARS
Model 2000 can also be configured for OEM applications.

Model
4010
Online Monitoring System
The
MAARS Model 4010 Engine Test Unit is a complete industrial
PC in a NEMA enclosure designed to be installed in a factory
environment. The display is a 10.4-inch color LCD panel with built in
touch screen. Although
not used during routine testing, a keyboard and mouse can be
connected to connectors located on the front panel of the
unit. The 4010
unit has an Intel Pentium II processor running at 166 MHz
with a 4-gigabyte hard disk.
The unit runs on the Windows NT operating system,
which greatly simplifies system maintenance.
All networking and communications is handled by the
operating system. Plant
Information Technology personnel will be working with a
familiar platform because of the Windows 95 operating
system. An
industrial bar code reader is connected to the 4010 unit to
allow test cell operators to simply scan engine model
numbers and serial numbers.

SmaartBricks
The
MAARS SmaartBricks are standard input or output modules that
are utilized by all of the MAARS Monitoring Systems.
They allow customers to customize their MAARS Monitoring
System to meet their individual needs. |
